This autumn, the Palais Galliera explores a little-known chapter in fashion history with "A Wardrobe of One’s Own: Dissident Femininities in the 19th Century". Through nearly 500 works—including garments, accessories, photographs, paintings and posters—the exhibition reveals how women adopted the dress codes of the male wardrobe to assert
their independence and redefine their place in society. A major highlight is the exceptional display of Rosa Bonheur’s wardrobe, shown almost in its entirety for the first time.
