Exhibition : Soulages, une autre lumière

Discover at the Musée du Luxembourg an exceptional exhibition of Pierre Soulages's work on paper, long preserved by the artist and rarely gathered in exhibitions. 130 works on paper, including more than thirty previously unseen, are on display and invite the public to follow Soulages' pictorial journey in chronological order. Among his techniques, Soulages particularly favored walnut stain, a material he especially appreciated for its qualities of transparency and opacity, in contrast with the white of the paper, even tho he also used ink and gouache.
