Through to october 31st, 2026.
Come and discover the dynamism and vitality of life in Champagne from the 10th to the 14th centuries! This landmark exhibition highlights the splendor of the Counts of Champagne, under the banner of their rallying cry for self-improvement: "Passavant le Meilleur!". Before its annexation to the Kingdom of France in 1361, Champagne was among the most powerful principalities in Europe.
A cradle of artistic creation, a center of trade thanks to its famous fairs, and a hub of religious orders and abbeys... The exhibition brings together nearly 300 works bearing witness to this period: illuminated manuscripts, sculptures, furniture, goldsmithing, and, of course, extremely rare stained-glass windows created for the cathedrals of Troyes and Châlons-en-Champagne.
