At the Musée de Cluny - Musée National du Moyen Âge

Until January 24, 2027.

Who was Nicolas Flamel, really? Behind the legend of the immortal alchemist lies a 14th century Parisian burgher, writer, philanthropist and shrewd property investor. The Musée de Cluny – musée national du Moyen-Âge – explores his remarkable story in the exhibition "Nicolas Flamel: The Paper Alchemist". Centred on his epitaph, preserved in the museum and long a source of curiosity and fascination, the exhibition brings together around fifty manuscripts, archival documents and objects that trace the birth of a myth which inspired Victor Hugo, the Surrealists and, more recently, the "Harry Potter" saga. A captivating journey through history, heritage and imagination.
