Crypte Archéologique de l'Ile de la Cité

With its exhibition entitled Dans la Seine (or “In The Seine”), the Archaeological Crypt of the Île de la Cité invites the public to discover objects found on either the bed of the River Seine or its banks. These items have come to light through research or archaeological digs and help us to see how humans and the river have interacted since prehistoric times. Nearly 150 objects are displayed chronologically, bearing witness to the history of the Seine, its development, its landscapes and its people and their lifestyles, as well as their beliefs and struggles.
