At the Musée de Montmartre
Through to September 13rd, 2026.
The Musée de Montmartre is dedicating, for the first time in France, a retrospective to Otto and Adya van Rees, major figures of the 20th-century European avantgarde, yet still relatively unknown. Through a chronological journey, the exhibition reveals to the public the life of this couple whose intimate daily life intertwines, nourishes, and inhabits their creative work. The public can discover around a hundred works, paintings, graphic arts, embroideries, sculptures, decorative arts projects, and more intimate family creations that testify to the evolution of their respective artistic journeys, from divisionism to cubism, passing through cloisonnism, up to the most advanced forms of abstraction.
