Discovering Jean de La Fontaine, his fables, and his famous creatures is now possible with Cité Immersive of Fables. This immersive and sensory journey of over 1000 m2 plunges visitors into the colorful world of the 17th-century man of letters and takes them on a journey to the heart of the Grand Siècle, at the court of Louis XIV, between royal splendor and freedom of spirit. This exhibition will surprise visitors with its lush scenography, stunning installations and sets, special eff ects, and cutting-edge immersive technologies. The Cité Immersive of Fables offers a unique reinterpretation of the most famous fables among the 243 written by Jean de La Fontaine. A journey lasting approximately 1.5 hours transports visitors to the heart of an imagination that is both quirky and poetic, with themed spaces, captivating staging, reimagined characters in fairy-tale costumes and makeup, modernized dialogues... Everything is designed to bring out all the liveliness and irony of the texts from that era in a playful and educational way.
To this is added an exceptional cast, bringing together emblematic figures of French cinema and theater such as Laurent Stocker, from the Comédie-Française, as Jean de La Fontaine, Alexandre Astier as the Lion, Arielle Dombasle as the Wolf, Charles Berling as the Fox, and Marie S’Infiltre as the Frog, as well as Axelle Saint-Cirel, the famous singer and interpreter of the Marseillaise at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as the Crow. Throughout the journey, the YouTuber and historical popularizer Note Bene accompanies the visitor with exclusive videos specially designed for the exhibition and available on terminals.
