The Musée Maillol pays tribute to the designer Gianni Versace, a flamboyant and visionary figure in international fashion. This first major French retrospective since 1986 brings together nearly 450 exceptional pieces, original creations and silhouettes, accessories, sketches, decorative objects, photographs, videos... and traces the artist's career, his inspirations, from Italian modernism to references to the antiquity of Magna Graecia, the influence of Greek sculpture, Italian Opera, from the splendor of Baroque to the influences of Pop Art.

The exhibition highlights the crucial role of supermodels such as Carla Bruni, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, as well as the creator's special connections with major figures of popular culture, icons of music, cinema and the international stage like Princess Diana.
