At the Musée de la vie Romantique
Through to August 30th, 2026.
After several months of work, the Museum of Romantic Life reopens its doors to the public. Restored using traditional 19th-century techniques, Ary Scheffer's studio-house has regained its 1830 appearance. The new museum tour highlights the painter Ary Scheffer and his circle, George Sand, Frédéric Chopin, Pauline Viardot, Eugène Delacroix, and invites the public to discover romantic Parisian life and the major themes that traverse the movement, such as nature, sentiment, literature, and the fantastic.
On the occasion of the reopening, the museum presents an exhibition highlighting the work of Paul Huet, a close associate of Ary Scheffer and a precursor of romantic landscape painting in France.
