Exhibition : Amazônia Créations et Futurs Autochtones

At the Musée du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac

Through to January 18th, 2026.

The Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac Museum highlights the Amazon and its abundant cultural richness, far from the cliché of the great exotic forest inhabited by peoples frozen in time. Between contemporary art and historical collections, the exhibition opens the doors to a vibrant world rooted in the present, where a multitude of entities, both human and non-human, coexist. The museum's collections engage in dialogue with contemporary works by indigenous artists and invite the public to rethink

the boundaries then defined by Western art history, between traditional art and contemporary art. Essential space is given to intangible heritage and ephemeral arts such as oral arts (music, songs, linguistic diversity...), body paintings, drawings

and graphics, traditional knowledge, which testify to the richness and vitality of Amazonian cultures. This exhibition off ers the opportunity to discover a plural and contemporary Amazonia where traditions and modernity intersect and enrich each

other.
