Comédie Musicale Top Hat

At the Théâtre du Chatelet

From April 15th to May 3rd, 2026.

Author and composer of nearly 1,500 songs, Irving Berlin is among the "Big Five" of American musicals. In his repertoire, the hit Cheek to Cheek, is taken from one of his most famous works: Top Hat, a film directed by Mark Sandrich in 1935, featuring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.

More than a tribute to the film, which reconstructs the dialogues, the Art Deco sets designed by Peter McKintosh, and Ginger Rogers' stunning feather dress, this original musical, directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, will be on stage at the Théâtre du Châtelet starting April 15. Skilful alternation of danced and sung numbers, with a superb final ballet and tap dancing, this adaptation of Top Hat offers 2 hours and 30 minutes of entertainment, as an ode to Broadway, as well as to American culture of the interwar period.
