Exhibition : La marine et les peintres, quatre siècles d'art et de pouvoir

Sometimes, the connections between painters and the French Navy are overlooked. For 400 years, these artists have documented maritime evolution and served the power through their art and the representation of the military marine world. In 1920, they were gathered within the Official Painters of the Navy, to which photographers and visual artists would be added. It is this evolution that the exhibition at the National Maritime Museum traces, accompanied by the 46th Salon of the Navy.
