At the Institut du Monde Arabe
Through to August 23rd, 2026.
The Arab World Institute invites you to discover Byblos, the world's first maritime port and a millennia-old city inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Byblos held a central place in the history of the Mediterranean basin, at the crossroads of Egypt, Mesopotamia, and the Aegean world. The public can discover more than 470 works, ornaments, figurines, remnants of the ancient port, royal tombs, and temples, including national treasures that have not left Lebanon for two decades. Explored as early as the
19th century by Ernest Renan, the site of Byblos still holds many secrets, some of which have been recently uncovered and will be revealed to visitors for the first time.
